can't believe it's been a year since i went to symphony in the domain last. overall a good experience, especially with the planets pieces. however, stupid a group of stupid pommies came right before the start of the performance and sat right by us. they weren't even paying attention to the stage at all and they were so bloody loud. who cares if your pants are sticking to your arse. really!

dinner at sailor thai. tad expensive.
Sydney Festival: The Eternity Man @ the Studio at Sydney Opera House with Mum. Interesting to find out that Arthur Stace's sister was a prostitute, played/sung by Machine Gun Fellatio's Christa Hughes. Overall the concert was no my cup of tea, though of interests were the tea chest bass, and pulling wires against the piano strings which made sounds that were reminiscent of a digeridoo but a little toned down.

Started reading Haruki Murakami's Hard-boiled Wonderland and the End of the World.
lunch in Chinatown
bumped into Uncle Francis
impromptu swim with Stevie at ABC pool.
Stevie mentioned that he noticed Goshu Ramen Tei on York St and since I've been wanting to go there for ages, we ended up going there for dinner. They thought we were Japanese so we played along but I think they figured us out after a while :p

Sydney Festival: 12 Angry Cellos @ City Recital Hall at Angel Place with Stevie. Had really good seats: 3rd row and only 3 metres from Robert Cohen. The program opened with Klengel's Hymnus for 12 cellos. The sounds that eminated from that stage was so beautiful. They enveloped me and lifted me so high that I had a smile on my face by the time the piece was over.
Sara Macliver was quite impressive in Villa-Lobos' Bachianas Brasileiras No5, especially when she was humming.

Flickerfest @ Bondi with Stevie

Paddington Markets with Mum. It's part of my plan to get her to see more of Sydney and to rid her of preconceptions of certain parts of this city as being "bad". Although PD didn't impress her all that much, she did end up bargaining a little bit and bought 2 leather bags. We made our way to Westfield Bondi Junction to have lunch at the Harbour Room with a view of the city. Think she views "Bondi" in a better light now.
Had dinner with Stevie at ?? in Strathfield. They were very particular with where their customers can sit. A little too strict and anal for me.
Sydney Festival: The Lazy Kings @ Sydney Olympic Park with Stevie. First time I've caught the train to Olympic Park and we ended up on one of those new trains. Alice, Faz and Martin came after the show started. Show was not bad, quite colourful and festive, kinda had a carnivale feel. The rain wasn't helpful, but for a free event can't really complain.

First time to Andrew (Boy) Charlton Pool between Mrs Macquaries Point and AGNSW in Botanical Gardens. We went after 12 and there were so many people there. Many were just sunbathing. Water was very salty, but the swim did me good. Will have to come back again.
