Under the Radar. Wasn't a great movie.

Michael Moore's Fahrenheit 9/11. Charmaine and I've been planning to see it for weeks. I know it's a blatant swipe at Bush but it doesn't make me despise him any less. And so what if it's biased? Leaders choose to tell the public things (not equals facts) that they want the public to know. It wouldn't be unfair for the things untold to be revealed. Besides, if it's not incriminating, then the parties involved should have nothing to worry about.

Had to get out of the house, especially since buffer Bernard was gone. So i jumped at Charmaine's invitation to hang out. We made "I, Robot" in perfect time and at the nicer theatre Chatswood Westfield one too. I'm usually not a movie snack person, but ended up buying stuff from Asian supermarket and Charmaine bought popcorn and lollies as well. As for the actual movie itself, I liked it and actually would watch it again. As for sci-fi movie, it is much better than TomCruise's Minority Report, which had half a dozen endings.
It was still early when we'd finished so headed off to Maicy's at Neutral Bay. My first time there and had a good time. The cajun chicken burger was good, as were the chips. It was barely 6 when we finished here so I killed some time at Charmaine's place. It seems our parents, esp our Mums, are so alike.

Finally watched Troy and it made me think of two things. One, how well sculptured are the bodies of Brad and Orlando. It's almost believable that Brad is a Greek god. Back to weights for me. Two, that humans will never stop killing each other. I don't know how murder can ever be justified. But walking from Hyde Park towards QVB to meet with Ryu, I saw a men sprawled on the ground. The lady who was walking next to me both couldn't walk past him. We tried asking if he was doing ok, but couldn't understand what he was saying. Then a couple also stopped to see if he was alright. We eventually left him. One of the guys said he was taking a rest. Seeing the homeless (?) man like that was disheartening, but the fact that people in Sydney still stop and give a helping hand made sure that I haven't lost all faith in the human race.
Had dinner with Ryu at Blackbird Cafe on Cockle Bay Wharf. He's about to drive around Australia and surf as he goes. He'll be back in Sydney around October before heading back to Yokohama. The food at the restaurant was ok, but considering the price didn't expect too much. But the gal who served us was so nice. Absolutely friendly.

I'm all Clive-Owen out. Saw him in King Arthur last night with Bernard and Brad. Also watched his BMW short movies. I like the Madonna one. And then watched Bourne Identity and he was in that too.

Got a chance to go back to Darling Harbour for salsa. Charmaine came along for the excitement that could be. This time it was at the Watershed Hotel. The instructor was an Asian guy (Ben?) whose side comments were borderline cheesy. The chick wasn't all that clear in her explanations. The steps they taught were new to me which was good, but it also meant I couldn't practise the ones I'd learned before. Three incidents that stood out:
1. There's a crossbody lead move where the guy had to turn, then hold up his right palm and the gal has to hold up her left palm. My partner for that move didn't hold up her left hand. My right hand pushed forward expecting to meet another palm only to lightly touch her breast instead. Oh dear.
2. The move where the partners are in an embrace so that only half their bodies overlap. Kinda like a half dip position. During this part, someone decided to call me on my mobile, causing my upper right thigh to vibrate. Tried so hard to stick my butt out so she didn't think I was too excited.
3. Final part of the lesson and I end up with Asian Nazi Devil Woman from the depths of hell. She kept on saying, "No!! No!! You have to move your body!!", and "Keep your back straight!!", and "You have to listen to the music!! Listen!!" with her index finger pointing up. (I wished lightning struck her at those moments.) I wanted the song to end soooo bad. I haven't been turned off a woman for a while (maybe the stupid woman at the supermarket a few months back was one of the last times.) I hope, for her sake, that her future partner is deaf and blind.

Met up with Cassiel after quite a few months of scheduling not working out. We went to Chatswood night market and had okonomiyaki and takoyaki there. So not filling, but it was good catching up with her. She's off to Japan for exchange next semester. Can't say I'm not jealous.
